During this 2-day tour, climb on this island in the Portuguese Azores. See the amazing sunset from the summit and sleep at the crater, surrounded by nature. The next morning, be enchanted by the sunrise before you start descending.

Itinerary

Ascend the Crater
- Meet your Pico tour guide at the meeting point: Mountain House or at Tripix Azores Office in front of Madalena Ferry station.
- Start climbing in the middle of the afternoon.
- See the sunset from the summit.
- Sleep at the crater.
Descend the Crater
- Go down after seeing the sunrise.
- Finish the descent during the morning.

Know Before You Go

Each participant must carry the tent, mat and sleeping bag in a backpack weighing around 3-4kg.

Damaged equipment fee: hike poles 10€/each, headlight 50€/each, tent 100€/each, matt inflatable 40€/each, sleeping bag 80€/each, backpack 50lts 30€/each.

Children under 15 years old are not allowed.

The overnight climb starts in the middle of the afternoon. To see the sunset from the summit, you sleep at the crater, go down after seeing the sunrise, and finish the descent in the morning.

Participants should have good physical preparation, and it is imperative that you warn Tripix Azores before confirming the activity if some participants of your group have any physical restraint—especially in the lower limbs—dizziness or are afraid of heights, mental restrictions, diabetes, cardiac problems, asthma problems or respiratory sensitivity, and should not have done diving 24 hours before.

These tours are usually made in a group. In case you want a private tour, this will have an extra fee.
