The itinerary

Day 01

Kyatpyin, Kyaukpyathat and Daw Nan Kyi Hill

  • Meet your tour guide upon arrival and begin your guided tour.
  • Drive to Kyatpyin, the western part of Mogok, to visit Kyaukpyathat (Stone Pavilion) and Daw Nan Kyi Hill, where you will hear the sorrowful story of Daw Nan Kyi and her family. If you have the chance, you can also visit some gem mines to learn how gems are searched for.
  • Finally, you will be dropped off at the hotel.

Day 02

Gem Markets and Ruby Pagoda Views

  • Start sightseeing at 8:30 am.
  • Go to Maniyadanar Gem Market to observe local people and gem merchants, see how gems are sold, learn what kinds of gems can be found in Mogok, and explore the jewellery there.
  • Drive up to Ruby Pagoda to look out over the whole town and take excellent photos, as this place offers one of the finest views.
  • After lunch, go to Park Gem Market to explore more precious gems, as you can find better-quality stones there. People continue buying and selling gems until sunset, and then you will return to your hotel.

Aungchanthar Market, Gem Workshops and Pagodas

  • Go to Aungchanthar Market to see many tribes from across the country and appreciate how beautiful the market is.
  • Walk through Zaylay Gem Market and continue to Cinema Gem Market with your Mogok tour guide.
  • After lunch, visit some lapidary workshops and a goldsmith.
  • Drive to Phaungdawoo Pagoda to see the Ruby throne and Silver throne.
  • Continue to Chanthargyi Pagoda to see the many kinds of gems donated to the pagoda.
  • Go to the viewpoint to enjoy the sunset and panoramic view of Mogok, and then return to the hotel.
