Day 01

Yangon Colonial Heritage and Shwedagon Pagoda

  • Enjoy a gentle walk around old downtown Yangon, known for its colonial buildings and small Indian quarter.

  • Visit Sule Pagoda, City Hall, Mahar Bandoola Park, the High Court, and other historic landmarks.

  • Stop at a local tea house to taste local tea with traditional snacks.

  • Continue along Bank Street, then see Chaukhtatgyi Pagoda and Kandawgyi Lake with Karaweik Palace.

  • Proceed to the Old Scott Market, built in 1912.

  • In the evening, admire the majestic, bejewelled Shwedagon Pagoda.

Day 02

Bago Sacred Sites and Royal Heritage

  • Travel from Yangon to Bago by car, stopping at the War Cemetery under the supervision of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.

  • Pay a visit to Kyaikkhawine Monastery.

  • Continue to Shwemawdaw Pagoda, the highest pagoda in Myanmar.

  • See Kanbawzathardi Palace.

  • Visit Shwethalyaung Pagoda, a reclining Buddha image with a smiling face. According to legend, King Mingadipa built it in 900 A.D.

  • View Kyaik Pun, four seated Buddha images believed to have been built in the 16th century by the powerful King Dhammazedi.

  • Travel back to Yangon in the evening.

Day 03

Circular Train, Dala Trishaw Ride, and Inya Lake

  • Take a local train ride for one hour, get off at Insein Station, and look around the local market.

  • Visit the White Marble Buddha and the white elephant park.

  • Explore Kaba Aye Pagoda and Mahapathana Cave.

  • Continue to the National Museum.

  • Walk along Inya Lake, the biggest lake in Yangon.

  • Hop on a local ferry to Dala City and go sightseeing by trishaw to observe everyday local life.
