Karahunj, Devil's Bridge and Khndzoresk Discovery

- The ancient astronomical observatory of Karahunj is located at an altitude of 1,800 meters in the Syunik region, near the city of Sisian. This complex of 223 stones, also called Zorats Karer (Stone Army), is believed by various sources to have more than 5,000 years of history and is also very similar to Stonehenge in England. It is a very interesting place for lovers of history, astronomy, and wonderful walks in the fresh air.
- Devil's Bridge is a natural 30-meter bridge that leads into a network of majestic rock caves, although entry down into the caves is possible only with equipment. The attraction is located next to the Tatev ropeway, in the deep part of the Vorotan River Gorge, at about 800 meters. For centuries, this natural monument served as entertainment for local people, who came here to bathe in the healing ponds and river, as well as for adventure lovers who descended to explore the caves.
- The ancient cave city of Khndzoresk, whose name means Apple, is located next to the village of the same name, 15 km from the city of Goris in the Syunik region. This unique city was built inside rock caves and is practically impregnable, having served for many centuries as a strategic point for Armenian armies in this region. A swinging bridge stretches above the gorge from the hill to the city, opening up a fantastic landscape. In the city, you will have the opportunity to explore the ancient cave houses where families once lived, as well as the school and the old church. There will also be time to take rare and memorable photos.
