The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival and Transfer to Pinnawala, Sigiriya and Dambulla

  • Arrive at the airport and meet our representative, who will take you to your first destination, Pinnawala, one of the most important sites in Sri Lanka. It is world-renowned for the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, which was established in 1975 with just seven elephant orphans. Although it was initially created to enhance tourism, it soon became famous for its conservation efforts.
  • Continue your journey to Sigiriya / Dambulla.

Overnight stay will be in Sigiriya / Dambulla.

Day 02

Trincomalee Beaches, Kanniya Hot Springs and Koneswaram Temple

  • After breakfast, begin travelling towards Trincomalee on the east coast, a destination popular for its mesmerizing deserted beaches. It also attracts many visitors for its exquisite setting and one of the finest natural harbours in the world.
  • Enjoy the chance to witness beautiful sections of the majestic bay. The little quaint fishing village of Nilaveli, situated to the north of Trincomalee, is counted among the best beaches in the country.
  • Visit the serene and refreshing hot springs at Kanniya, which are well known for their therapeutic qualities.
  • Be amazed by the sight of huge whales during the appropriate season, along with other thrilling activities available here. The area is also home to the holy Koneswaram Temple, devoted to Lord Shiva, and the captivating Swamy Rock, famously called Lover's Leap. On arrival, the rest of the day will be free for leisure.

Overnight stay will be in Trincomalee.

Day 03

Dambulla Cave Temple, Matale Spice Garden and Kandy

  • Drive to Dambulla, famous for the Dambulla Rock Temple, which dates back to the 1st century BC. This temple was constructed by King Walagambahu and today stands as a renowned World Heritage Site. You are sure to be awestruck by these impressive cave temples of Sri Lanka. The temple complex has five caves adorned with more than 2,000 sq. m of painted walls and ceilings, giving it the reputation of having one of the largest areas of paintings in the world. This beautiful temple also comprises over 150 Buddha images, including a giant Buddha statue carved out of the rock.
  • Continue your sojourn to Matale. On arrival, visit a dazzling spice garden with a variety of spices, where you will also enjoy a cookery demonstration. Later, drive onward to Kandy.

Overnight stay will be in Kandy.

Day 04

Peradeniya, Kandy Sightseeing and Colombo

  • Travel to Peradeniya to visit the Peradeniya Botanical Garden. It was originally created by a Sinhala king as a pleasure garden and was later extended by the British. Within its vast area of 147 acres, you will find an alluring variety of lush green trees, plants, and flowers.
  • Return to Kandy, which served as the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings and today is a World Heritage Site because of its magnificent beauty. The old legends, traditions, and folklore still fill the city with a special charm.
  • Drive around the astounding Kandy Lake, modelled by the last Sinhala king in 1798.
  • Explore the lively Kandy town and its bright markets, as well as the arts and crafts centre, a gem museum, and a lapidary.
  • Visit the famous Tooth Relic Temple. Thereafter, begin driving to Colombo. Like other major cities, Colombo is fast-developing, with tall modern buildings on one side and colonial architecture from the British era on the other.
  • Go sightseeing and shopping in Colombo, later followed by an overnight stay.

Day 05

Departure Transfer

  • Enjoy a mouth-watering breakfast, after which, at the given time, you will be taken to the airport for your departure back home or to your onward destination.
