The itinerary

Day 01

Lisbon, Belém, Sintra and Cascais

  • Meet your tour guide at a predecided location.

  • Start the tour at 9 am.

  • Begin with a Lisbon city tour with your Portugal tour guide. Lisbon is the vibrant and historic capital, also called the "city of the seven hills".

  • Cruise along the Belém district, which has the greatest cultural heritage and the largest concentration of monuments, such as Belém Tower and the Monument to the Discoveries.

  • Visit the church of Jerónimos Monastery - listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site - a masterpiece of the Manueline style. Also visit the National Coach Museum, home to one of the most important collections of old carriages in the world. On Mondays, both visits will be replaced by Ajuda National Palace.

  • Go downtown to the so-called gateway to Lisbon and discover broad squares and pedestrianized streets flanked by neoclassical buildings that lend the district an air of grandeur. Baixa is currently under consideration by UNESCO for designation as a World Heritage Site.

  • Discover the delightful Art Deco tiled shop fronts and elaborately decorated bars, shops, and cafes.

  • Move towards Sintra, a fairy-tale place known for its many Romantic architectural monuments.

  • Walk through its medieval streets and visit the National Sintra Palace, an icon located in the heart of this village.

  • Proceed to Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of Europe, to appreciate the incredible view over the Atlantic Ocean.

  • Visit Cascais, one of the country's leading resort destinations, known for sun, sea, sightseeing, and sophistication.

Day 02

Óbidos, Nazaré, Batalha and Fátima

  • Start by visiting the charming and picturesque surroundings of Lisbon.

  • Stop in Óbidos. This little walled town is located on a hilltop, and it is mostly intact or restored.

  • Stroll through its impressive and traditional streets, where you will find its finest handicrafts.

  • Proceed to the most famous fishing village in Portugal: Nazaré. Nazaré does not contain the architectural treasures or grand monuments found in other Portuguese towns, but it keeps tradition alive.

  • Admire the wooden and colourful boats, the superb view from the top of the hill, and the gorgeous waves that also make it a paradise for surfers.

  • Continue the tour to Batalha, where you will visit the church of Batalha Monastery, a 14th-century Gothic masterpiece also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

  • Proceed to Fátima Shrine, one of the most popular Catholic pilgrimage sites in the world, where many believe three young children witnessed apparitions of the Virgin Mary in 1917.

  • Visit the famous Sanctuary and participate in the holy mass.

  • Admire the houses of the Three Shepherds.

  • Return to Lisbon.
