Itinerary
-
Day 1- Visit to the Narikala Fortress
- Meet the tour guide at your hotel after arriving from Tbilisi Airport.
Take a walk around the old part of the city, visit the monuments listed on the UNESCO Heritage list, and sip some wine at a local wine cellar.
Head to Narikala Fortress in a cable car, from where the picturesque panorama of Tbilisi starts. Return to your hotel for the night.
-
Day 2- Explore the Truso Valley
Enjoy breakfast in the hotel and proceed to see Ananuri Fortress, a multifunctional architectural complex of the late feudal times in Georgia.
Drive to the city of Stepantsminda and take a 4x4 ride to the Trinity church.
Visit the Truso valley, full of abandoned hamlets and varied water springs, to reach the Gveleti waterfall.
Return to Stepantsminda for the night's stay.
-
Day 3- Learn about the historical places of Chiatura and Katskhi
Eat breakfast in the hotel and visit the Jvari Monastery, situated on the pick of the mountain, to enjoy the beauty of the magnificent merge of two rivers: Mtkvari and Aragvi.
Drive to Chiatura, the only Bolshevikheartland in Georgia during the 1905 Russian Revolution. After years of prosperity these days, Chiatura is a 'slow' town that lives at its own pace, hidden in the mountain valley on the outskirts of the country.
Visit the Katskhi Pillar, where only a monk lives and women are not allowed to go up. It is approximately 40 metres high and overlooks the small river valley of Katskhura.
Head to Kutaisi, to see Bagrati Cathedral and stay for the night in Kutaisi.
-
Day 4- Experience the beauty of Martvili Canyon
Have breakfast and head to Tskaltubo, where you can walk around the abandoned Soviet sanatorium, 'the place where time stopped.'
Proceed to Martvili Canyon and enjoy the scenery while taking a boat trip in the river with deep green colour.
Arrive in Batumi. The sunny and modern Batumi personifies all the charm of a southern city and a sea resort of the third millennium with high-class luxury hotels. The old part of the city is exciting since most of the houses were built in the XIX century.
Stay for the night in Batumi.
-
Day 5- Visit to Mtirala national park
Eat your breakfast and head out to Mtirala National Park, where you can spend the whole day enjoying being in contact with nature. Return to Batumi for the night.
-
Day 6- Admire the Ancient Town of Uplistsikhe
Enjoy your breakfast and depart for Gori to see the museum of Joseph Stalin. In the museum, you will hear the stories about his life and see his personal belongings like the armoured train cart.
Visit Uplistsikhe, an ancient rock-hewn town that witnessed key events of Georgian history and return to Tbilisi.
-
Day 7- Departure
Enjoy your breakfast and head back to the airport.
