Knossos Palace Visit and Ancient Greek Music Experience
Meet your tour guide at the pickup point in Heraklion.
Visit the most important archaeological site on Crete and the country's second most visited archaeological site, the Minoan Palace of Knossos. This prehistoric "city" is the place where the oldest European civilization began and flourished some 5,000 years ago.
Afterward, enjoy a one-and-a-half-hour session on ancient Greek music in both theory and practice.
The theory section focuses on images of ancient instruments, their technology, and ancient notation.
During the experiential part of the workshop, you become the musicians. You will listen to surviving ancient Greek music, both live and recorded, and then be invited to play simple ancient rhythms yourselves with the help of your instructor.
