Kingstown, Fort Charlotte, Wallilabou Bay and Buccament Beach
Meet your tour guide at the Kingstown cruise ship terminal and begin your tour.
As you drive, you will be shown some of the most historic buildings, including the Central Police Station, the Financial Complex, the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court, and the Cenotaph. Make your way through Kingstown Market, a bustling market square where you will see many vendors and farmers selling their local produce.
As you continue through the capital city of Kingstown, drive along Church Street, or "Back Street" as it is locally called. Here, you will be shown and given a brief history of the Kingstown Methodist Church, as well as the Anglican and Roman Catholic churches.
Make your way to Fort Charlotte. Fort Charlotte is a British colonial-era fort built on a hill overlooking the harbour. Enjoy a panoramic view of the island's Leeward side, including Kingstown, Young Island, Bequia, and the famous island of Mustique.
Drive to Layou Village, a picturesque settlement, for more photos. Layou was one of the first areas settled by the French, who were the first Europeans to settle in St. Vincent and the Grenadines in the early eighteenth century. Even before them, the Caribs used it as one of their settlements, as is evident from the petroglyphs found in the area.
Explore the fishing village of Barrouallie. The area is known for fishing and is famous for blackfish.
Make your way to Wallilabou Bay, where the opening scenes of the first movie, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, were filmed. It is one of the most visited sites by cruise ship passengers.
Visit Wallilabou Heritage Park and admire the area and its waterfall. Large Samaan trees cover the pool and its adjacent areas, creating a cool microclimate in the park's core area. These and other plants create a habitat for several species of birds.
After a fun time on the pirates tour, make your way back to the beautiful white-sand Buccament Beach, where you will have 1 hour to swim or snorkel.
