Day 01

Arrival in Sri Lanka and Transfer to Negombo

  • On arrival, be welcomed by our tour representative and transfer to Negombo.
  • On the way to Negombo, observe the lifestyle of the Sri Lankan people. Although the distance is short, you will learn a lot from the journey.
  • Once you reach the hotel, head to the beach and enjoy some fresh air.
  • Explore the Dutch Fort.
  • Relax for the rest of the day.

Day 02

Negombo to Dambulla and Dambulla Rock Temple

  • In the morning, after enjoying a yummy breakfast at the hotel in Negombo, proceed to Dambulla, famous for the Dambulla Rock Temple, which dates back to the 1st century BC. This temple was constructed by King Walagambahu and today stands as a renowned World Heritage Site.
  • Explore the Rose Quartz Mountain.

Day 03

Sigiriya Rock Fortress Exploration

  • Have a delicious breakfast at the hotel.
  • Climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a World Heritage Site constructed by King Kashyapa (477-495 AD) in the 5th century. The "Lion Rock" is a citadel of unusual beauty rising 200 meters from the dense forest. The rock was the innermost stronghold of the 70-hectare town. A moat, rampart, and extensive gardens, including the renowned water gardens, ring the base of the rock.
  • Visit the world-renowned frescoes of the "Heavenly Maidens" of Sigiriya, which are in a protected pocket of the rock approached by a curved stairway. These frescoes are painted with earth pigments on plaster.

Day 04

Dambulla to Kandy and Cultural Highlights

  • In the morning, enjoy a delicious breakfast at the hotel in Dambulla.
  • Go to Kandy, the former capital of the Sri Lankan kings and a World Heritage Site. The name "Kandy" conjures a vision of splendour and magnificence. Many of the legends, traditions, and folklore are still lovingly kept alive. Kandy Lake was constructed by the last Sinhala king, Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe, in 1798.
  • Visit Kandy town and bazaar, the arts and crafts centre, a gem museum, and a lapidary.
  • Visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy. Thereafter, witness a cultural show.

Day 05

Kandy to Nuwara Eliya via Ramboda Fall

  • After a delicious breakfast at the hotel in Kandy, transfer to Nuwara Eliya via Ramboda Fall. En route, visit a tea factory or plantation and some beautiful waterfalls.
  • Take a walking sightseeing tour of Nuwara Eliya in the evening.

Nuwara Eliya to Yala and National Park Safari

  • Have breakfast at the hotel in Nuwara Eliya.
  • Travel from Nuwara Eliya to Yala via Tissamaharama.
  • Enjoy a jeep safari in Yala National Park. Yala is the largest national park in Sri Lanka and is home to wild elephants, wild boars, wild buffaloes, leopards, bears, deer, and crocodiles. Large flocks of migratory and indigenous birds are also found here.
  • Transfer from Yala to Kataragama.

Visit the Pettah bazaar, where one can shop for a bargain, a Hindu temple and a Buddhist temple, residential areas where you find the stately homes of the rich, and the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), an outright gift to Sri Lanka from the People's Republic of China.
