The journey
Embark on an expedition to the sacred Lake Mansarovar and the Dolma La Pass via the famous route of Kerung, Paryang, and Darchen. Drive through Khunmen Tso, Sinling, Karru Ongchen, and Peiku Tso Lake while enjoying breathtaking views of Gaurishankar, Shishapangma, Kailash, and Gurla Mandhata. Along the way, witness yak and sheep herds and pay a holy visit to the historic Chiu Monastery. This journey combines spiritual significance, high-altitude landscapes, and the unforgettable Mt Kailash kora experience.
From this vantage point, catch a glimpse of Manasarovar, the highest freshwater lake with a turquoise complexion, surrounded by Kailash, Mt. Gurula-Mandata, and Lake Rakchyas.

Depart from Kathmandu for the Tibet border at Kerung.
After completing immigration formalities at the border, meet your Tibetan guide and driver.
After a short briefing, drive to the guest house for an overnight stay.
Acclimatize at Kerung before continuing the journey further.
In the afternoon, enjoy free time to look around the area.

Start the day with a long drive across desert terrain, passing nomad camps and herds of sheep and yaks.
See Gaurishankar, Shishapangma, and Langtang Himal from the pass.
Continue driving through Khunmen Tso, Sinling, Karru Ongchen, and Peiku Tso Lake (4400 m).
Then cross the Brahmaputra River ("Yarling Tsangpo" in Tibetan) to finally reach Saga (4600 m).
Overnight in guest house.
Watch the mountains from a distance as you drive along the road.
Pass through the small town of Zhongba before reaching Paryang, which offers the first view of Mt Kailash.
Then visit the historic Chiu Monastery on the northwest shore of the lake.
From this vantage point, catch a glimpse of Manasarovar, the highest freshwater lake with a turquoise complexion, surrounded by Kailash, Mt. Gurula-Mandata, and Lake Rakchyas.
Overnight in guest house.
After spending peaceful hours on the shores of the sacred Lake Manasarovar with the snowy massif of Gurla Mandhata, drive 40 km to Darchen, which serves as the base for the Mt Kailash kora.

Walk along beautiful rocky cliffs and waterfalls. The 15 km trail takes almost 7 hours.

Today, cross the Dolma La Pass at 5670 m.
Once you reach the top, make the holiest offering and sit down for meditation.
By late afternoon, arrive at Zuthul Puk, where the great ascetic Milerappa is believed to have performed miracles.

Head to Lake Manasarovar and continue onward to Saga.
Overnight at guest house.
Drive back the same way to Kerung Border.
Overnight at hotel.
Drive back to Kathmandu from the Kerung Border.
