The itinerary
Day 02
Arusha to Miriakamba Hut via Momella Gate
After breakfast, drive to the Arusha National Park gate at Momella.
Trek through the lush forest, crossing the Ngare Nanyuki River to reach Miriakamba Hut at 8,337 ft / 2,541 m. This trek will take about 4 to 5 hours.
Dinner and overnight at Miriakamba Hut.
Day 03
Ascent to Saddle Hut and Optional Little Meru Trek
After an early breakfast, continue ascending steeply through pleasant forest glades and giant heather to reach Saddle Hut at 11,713 ft / 3,570 m. This trek will take about 2 to 3 hours.
From here, it is possible to take a side trek to the summit of Little Meru at 12,450 ft / 3,794 m and return to Saddle Hut in about 2 hours.
Meals and overnight at Saddle Hut.
Day 04
Summit Mount Meru at Sunrise and Descend to Arusha
Make an early start to reach Rhino Point and then continue to the summit at 14,981 ft / 4,566 m to see the sunrise behind Mount Kilimanjaro, before descending to Momella Gate.
Meet at the gate and then transfer to Arusha Town.
Dinner and overnight at Impala Hotel.
Day 05
Departure Transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport
After breakfast, transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport for your onward flight.
End of services.
