Visit Cameron Highlands, a hill resort with large tea plantations, farmlands, and scattered colonies of aborigines. Continue to the rainforest of Taman Negara for jungle trekking, rapids shooting, fire making and blowpipe demonstrations by natives, a cool dip at waterfalls, and a night jungle walk with a Nature Guide. The tour ends with drop-off at Kuala Besut, the gateway to the paradise islands of Perhentian and Redang.

At 8 am, go jungle trekking to the viewpoint for a stunning view of Gunung Tahan, Malaysia's highest mountain.

The itinerary

Day 01

Kuala Lumpur to Cameron Highlands via Batu Caves

At 8 am, depart for Cameron Highlands, en route to the iconic Batu Caves. Climb 272 steps to the temple of a Hindu deity honoured during festivals. Ladies are advised to cover their knees and shoulders.
Sip tea while seated at an elevated tea cafe and watch the rolling hills below. There will be plenty of photo opportunities.
Visit vegetable markets to see the various vegetables, fruits, and flowers grown in the Camerons.
Visit the Flower Gardens and Cactus Gardens.
Visit the Butterfly Farm to see various insects, birds, and smaller animals.
Check in to the hotel. Free and easy.

Day 02

Cameron Highlands to Taman Negara Rainforest

At 7 am, depart for Taman Negara, a 130-million-year-old tropical rainforest with endangered tigers, elephants, and tapirs, as well as 14,000 flowering plants and 300 bird species. The forest is also home to medicinal and poisonous plants, as well as aphrodisiacs.

On arrival at Taman Negara, check in to the hotel. Free and easy. Enjoy the jungle ambience.

At 7 pm, join a Nature Guide for a night jungle walk to spot smaller animals such as spiders, scorpions, snakes, and owls, and watch nocturnal animals come to the salt lick. Return to the hotel.

Day 03

Taman Negara Trekking, Rapids, Village Visit and Waterfall

At 8 am, go jungle trekking to the viewpoint for a stunning view of Gunung Tahan, Malaysia's highest mountain. Catch a boat, and let the boatman negotiate the shooting rapids of gushing waters to reach an aborigine village. Enjoy fire making and blowpipe demonstrations the native way. The Nature Guide will share facts and taboos of Taman Negara and the aborigine people. Soon, these villages will be no more due to rehabilitation by the government.

The Nature Guide then leads you to a mesmerizing waterfall for a cool dip - a therapeutic stress reliever. Return to the hotel. Free and easy.

Day 04

Taman Negara to Kuala Besut Jetty

At 6 am, depart early for Kuala Besut Jetty to catch the 2 pm boat. The journey takes approximately 5 hours. Our guide will assist in identifying your boat to the islands and ensure all is well before saying goodbye to you.
