The itinerary

Day 01

Trek from Morogoro to Bondwa Peak

Wake up early at the hotel and have your breakfast. Your tour guide will arrive on time to take you to the top of the Uluguru Mountains at Bondwa Peak, 2,830 meters above sea level.
The trail begins at the end of Boma Road and passes through farmland into the Uluguru villages. It then rises through scattered farmsteads, heavily degraded woodland, and bushland. Agriculture gradually becomes more intensive at the highest altitudes of the Uluguru Mountains.
After four hours, you will reach Morningside, the oldest German mountain hut. Here, you can take a short rest, enjoy the spectacular view of Morogoro town, and eat your lunch box.
After your rest, continue trekking from Morningside to Bondwa Peak, which often takes three hours. You will pass through tropical rainforest with different kinds of plant species, birds such as the African Great Turaco, African Crown Eagle, Mountain Buzzard, and African Goshawk, as well as monkeys such as the Black and White Colobus, Blue Monkey, Vervet Monkey, and wildflowers.
