Join this 3-day trip to Bukit Lawang and Gunung Leuser National Park in northern Sumatra for a chance to track semi-wild orangutans in their forest habitat. Along the way, enjoy views of local plantations, walk by the river in Bukit Lawang, and visit nearby villages. Your jungle trekking day also includes a bat cave, tubing, and opportunities to spot birds, butterflies, siamang, Thomas leaf monkeys, macaques, lar gibbons, and reptiles. The tour ends with a return to Medan and a short city visit.

Day by day
You will be picked up at the airport and then stop at some places for food while enjoying views of the nice plantations along the way to Bukit Lawang.
After arriving in Bukit Lawang, check in at the hotel and then take a walk along the river to see Bukit Lawang and some nearby villages.
Wake up in the morning, have breakfast, and meet the local ranger guide from Leuser National Park.
Then continue for jungle trekking to see semi-wild orangutans in the forests around the nature conservation area of Leuser National Park. You will also explore tubing, visit a bat cave, and may see a variety of birds, butterflies, siamang (long-arm apes), Thomas leaf monkeys, macaques, lar gibbons, and different kinds of reptiles.
After that, the rest of the day is your own program. You can swim or take a beautiful walk to a local village before returning to the inn to rest in the afternoon.
Dinner is available at the lodge. Spend some free time and rest.
Note: The option of staying one night in the forest is available.
Early in the morning after breakfast, return to Medan city.
Visit some major tourist areas in Medan and enjoy a short city tour.
