The itinerary

Day 01

Bucharest, the Carpathians, and Sibiu's Old District

Meet your guide in the morning at your hotel in Bucharest.
Start the journey with a panoramic tour of Bucharest, including Parliament Palace, Revolution Square, the Athenaeum, the Royal Palace, the Triumph Arch, and Victoriei Avenue.
Continue towards the Sibiu area, crossing the Carpathian Mountains.
Enjoy a walking tour of Sibiu's Old District.
Next, stop in an old village in the Sibiu area, where you can enjoy a horse-driven wagon tour. Learn more about local traditions and ways of life, and visit an icon painting museum and a local household. A traditional dinner will be served in a local house.

Overnight stay in a local guesthouse.

Day 02

Corvin's Castle, Alba Iulia, and Sighisoara

In the morning, travel to Hunedoara to visit the most important medieval castle in Romania - Corvin's (Hunyadi) Castle, dating from the 15th century.
Continue to Alba Iulia, a city with a long history dating back to ancient times.
Visit the Orthodox Cathedral, the Catholic Cathedral, and the fortification system built in the "Vauban" style.
End the day in Sighisoara. In the evening, taste local drinks and enjoy plum and pear brandy tasting in a small family cellar.

Overnight in a three-star hotel in the Old Town - Hotel Sighisoara or similar.

Day 03

Sighisoara, Saschiz, Prejmer, and Brasov

Start the day with a visit to the medieval town of Sighisoara (UNESCO), also called "The Pearl of Transylvania," where you can enjoy its wonderful medieval atmosphere.
Next, drive through an area of old Transylvanian villages that preserve their architecture and customs.
Stop at Saschiz village, famous for its natural homemade jams, and enjoy a visit and jam tasting in a local produce shop.
Continue to the fortified church of Prejmer (UNESCO), dating from the 13th century and known for its unique defensive architecture.
In the afternoon, enjoy a walking tour of the medieval center of Brasov. Highlights include Council Square, the Black Church, the White and Black Towers, Weaver's Bastion, and Ecaterina's Gate.

Overnight in Brasov at Bella Musica Hotel, located in the Old Town.

Day 04

Bran Castle, Peleș Castle, and Return to Bucharest

In the morning, visit the famous Bran Castle. Also called Dracula's Castle, it is situated not far from Brasov, about 25 kilometres away, at the entrance to the Bran-Rucar passage.
Continue to Sinaia and visit Peleș Castle, the former summer residence of the kings of Romania.
End the journey with a panoramic tour of Bucharest, featuring Parliament Palace, Revolution Square, the Athenaeum, the Royal Palace, the Triumph Arch, and Victoriei Avenue.
Drop-off at the airport at approximately 5:30-6:00 pm or at a hotel in Bucharest.

This tour is one of the best ways to explore Transylvania. It includes visits to the most important towns, castles, and unique fortified churches. Sibiu is one of the most important fortified towns in Transylvania. The city is reminiscent of old European cities such as Nuremberg. It was founded in 1190 and grew to become the chief city of the Transylvanian Saxons. This fantastic town includes the Old Town, the Big Square, the Small Square, the Staircase Tower, the Tanners' Tower, the Liar's Bridge, and the House of the Butchers' Guild.
The city of Brasov is one of the oldest in Europe, dating from 1235. During the Middle Ages, Brasov was known as a mighty fortress surrounded by high stone walls and defended by bulwarks, towers, and other small fortresses. The buildings and streets of the historical centre still preserve a medieval character.
Sighisoara: The citadel, built in the 13th century by German (Saxon) settlers, was an important cultural and artistic centre in the medieval period. The old town is considered one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Europe and is included on the UNESCO heritage list.
Dracula's Castle: The castle gained its fame from Dracula's legend, written in 1897 by Bram Stoker and later made into a film by Francis Ford Coppola. The first documents about Bran Castle appeared in 1377.
