The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in Windhoek

Meet your tour guide at the airport for pickup and transfer to Windhoek West Guesthouse.

Day 02

Windhoek to Namib-Naukluft Park

Meet the guide at Windhoek West Guesthouse and set out for the journey. Descend from the central plateau to the grassy Namib Desert as you pass through the mountains.
Enjoy views of the Eros Mountains and the Khomas Hochland range, and stop at Solitaire for a light lunch.
Continue to Sossusvlei Dune Lodge (SDL).

Day 03

Sunrise at Sossusvlei and Sesriem Canyon

Depart from SDL early to catch the soft sunrise light over Dune 45.
Take a short afternoon excursion to Sesriem Canyon with your guide.

Day 04

Across the Desert to Walvis Bay and Swakopmund

Drive through the desert, crossing the Tropic of Capricorn and traversing the Gaub and Kuiseb Passes.
Stop at Walvis Bay and enjoy views of flamingos and other birds.
Stay overnight in Swakopmund. Dinner tonight is at the client's own expense in a local restaurant.

Day 05

Cape Cross Seal Colony and Swakopmund Leisure Time

Take a morning excursion to the seal colony at Cape Cross and experience thousands of fur seals at close range.
Explore the town for the rest of the day. Your Namibian guide will discuss the possible optional activities with you and offer to make pre-bookings in advance. Activities in Swakopmund are at your own expense.

Day 06

Journey to Etosha National Park

Stop at Usakos to refuel, and enjoy a light lunch served along the way.
Arrive at Okaukuejo in the afternoon.
Explore the surroundings before a late afternoon game drive.
Visit the floodlit waterhole after dinner for a chance to see rhinos and lions.

Day 07

Full-Day Game Viewing in Etosha

Spend almost the entire day game driving, visiting waterholes and Etosha Pan.
Take a late afternoon game drive in search of wildlife.
Return to camp, enjoy a glass of wine, and experience a fabulous sunset from the tower of the old German fort before dinner.

Day 08

Etosha to Windhoek via Okahandja

Enjoy a scenic drive back to Windhoek.
Pass through towns and rural areas, stopping at the small town of Okahandja, home to Namibia's largest wood carving market. The stalls operate on a local co-operative basis and offer a vast array of truly Namibian souvenirs.
Arrive in Windhoek in the late afternoon and get dropped off at your accommodation.
