Meet your tour guide at the agreed-upon location and depart from Tbilisi for Telavi, travelling over Mount Gombori, which divides Kakheti into two parts: Inner and Outer Kakheti.
Marvel at Batonis-Tsikhe Castle in the centre of the city. This complex includes two churches, the ruins of the 11th-century royal baths, the Pantheon, and the Persian-style palace of King Erekle II. Today, the palace houses the Erekle II Museum, an ethnographic museum, and a gallery of paintings.
Continue your journey with a visit to the architectural complex of Gremi, the 16th-century capital of the Kakheti Kingdom. Gremi attracts the eye of every traveller.
Stop at Alaverdi Monastery. Also see Ikalto Monastery and the famous Ikalto Academy.
Return to Tbilisi along the Gombori road, which is beautiful at any time of year. Idyllic villages, magnificent landscapes of the Alazani Valley and the Caucasus Mountains, panoramic views, lamb herds, ancient forests, lovely lawns, and a sea of clouds all await you on this road.
