Day 01

Telavi Heritage Tour through Kakheti

Meet your tour guide at the agreed-upon location and depart from Tbilisi for Telavi, travelling over Mount Gombori, which divides Kakheti into two parts: Inner and Outer Kakheti.
Marvel at Batonis-Tsikhe Castle in the centre of the city. This complex includes two churches, the ruins of the 11th-century royal baths, the Pantheon, and the Persian-style palace of King Erekle II. Today, the palace houses the Erekle II Museum, an ethnographic museum, and a gallery of paintings.
Continue your journey with a visit to the architectural complex of Gremi, the 16th-century capital of the Kakheti Kingdom. Gremi attracts the eye of every traveller.
Stop at Alaverdi Monastery. Also see Ikalto Monastery and the famous Ikalto Academy.
