The itinerary

Day 01

Yerevan to Khor Virap, Areni and Hermon

Travel from Yerevan to Khor Virap Monastery.
Visit with your Armenia tour guide:
- Areni wine tasting: taste some of the best wine found in Armenia, produced by local winegrowers.
- Areni caves: this cave complex is an early Bronze Age ritual site and settlement.
- Noravank Monastery: a 13th-century Armenian monastery located in a gorge.
- Yeghegis: this village has a rich history and is home to the medieval Tsakhats Kar Monastery.
- Arates Monastery: an abandoned village that once belonged to Hermon's kingdom.
Arrive in Hermon, where you will spend the night.

Day 02

Hermon to Jermuk via Shatin and Smbataberd

Proceed on a sightseeing tour from Hermon to visit:
- Shatin: a village in Yeghegis that offers a spectacular viewpoint for seeing the rare wild mountain goats.
- Smbataberd Fortress: a most imposing fortress located at the crest of two mountains.
- Tsakhats Kar Monastery: a monastic complex overlooking the Yeghegis River.
- Village Martiros (Cave Church): a semi-abandoned village rich in cultural artefacts.
Reach Jermuk, where you will spend the night.

Day 03

Jermuk to Yerevan via Selim and Lake Sevan

Go on a Jermuk city tour to visit:
- Selim Caravanserai: a caravanserai built alongside the Vardenyats Mountain Pass.
- Noratus Cemetery: a medieval cemetery with many early khachkars, located in the village of Noratus near Lake Sevan.
- Lake Sevan (Sevanavank Monastery): a medieval monastery located on the sole major island in Armenia.
Return to Yerevan. The tour ends here.
