Kotor, Lovćen National Park, Cetinje and Sveti Stefan

  • Head towards Lovćen National Park by road, which was constructed in 1881. It consists of 25 switchbacks, rising from 0 to 1100 m altitude, with stunning views over the fjord of Kotor.

  • After a photo stop at the highest point of the road, continue to Njeguši village, where you will taste homemade local products such as grape or honey brandy, smoked ham, and cheese at an old traditional tavern-restaurant. You will also visit the smokehouse for explanations and little secrets about how locals make smoked ham and smoked cheese.

  • Continue to the Royal Capital of Cetinje, where the Montenegrin royal Petrovic dynasty was settled.

  • Enjoy a walking tour and visit St. Nicolas Castle with your Montenegro tour guide.

  • Drive back along another road and make photo stops at a viewpoint above Budva and Sveti Stefan (St. Stephen Island), two other popular attractions along the Montenegrin coast.

Know before you go

  • Join me on this scenic ride to Lovćen National Park by the old 25-switchback road, going from 0 to 1100 m altitude. As we climb, the view over the Bay of Kotor becomes more and more spectacular. A photo stop at the top will blow your mind!

  • In Njeguši village, we will see old dry-stone wall houses and discover the main local food specialties. While learning the secrets of the smokehouse, you will hear how our ancestors used it to make traditional smoked prosciutto, cheese, and brandy.
