Day 01

Perast, Risan, Our Lady of the Rocks and Kotor Old Town

Meet your guide waiting for you in front of the port with a sign bearing your name, or at an agreed meeting place.
Drive to Perast with your Montenegrin tour guide.
Visit Perast and the island of Our Lady of the Rocks, including its church and museum.
Continue driving to Risan.
Explore Risan and the Roman Mosaics Museum.
Drive to a viewpoint above Kotor Bay for amazing scenery, if you wish.
Head back to Kotor.
Enjoy a walking tour of Kotor Old Town.
At the end of the tour, your Montenegrin guide will escort you back to the port or help you with directions if you would like to stay longer in town by yourself. Old Town is just a 5-minute walk from the port if you are arriving by cruise ship.

The places we will visit are the reason why Kotor Bay is UNESCO protected!
As a local, I keep admiring Perast town, with 300 inhabitants and 22 churches. Wherever you turn, there is a Venetian Baroque palace that gives special charm to the town.
'The Pearl of Perast', Our Lady of the Rocks, is a man-made islet built on top of a reef. In its church and treasury, the culture and history of the area are preserved.
Kotor Old Town adds to the Venetian atmosphere as well, and it will seem as though we have used a time machine and gone back to medieval times.
To mix it up, there is Risan, 10 minutes away from Perast but completely different. It was part of the Turkish Empire, not Venice. It is known as the 'sunken town' since a town once stood where the sea is today.
The Roman Mosaics Museum takes us back to a 2nd-century AD Roman villa with a unique presentation of the god Hypnos.
