The journey
Embark on a 3-day trekking experience to two of Indonesia's most popular natural attractions, Mount Bromo and Ijen Crater. Watch a spectacular sunrise over the high volcanic peaks of Mount Bromo, including Mt Batok, Bromo Crater, the Sea of Sand, and Semeru volcano. Continue to Ijen Crater to enjoy relaxed views of the green acid lake, the massive rim area, yellowish sulfur stones, and the activity of sulfur miners below.
If you reach the Ijen volcano rim earlier, you may also be able to see the Blue Flames, which normally appear before 5:30 am.

Day by day
Be picked up by your driver in private AC (air-conditioned) transportation from the airport, hotel, or train station, and travel to your hotel near Mount Bromo.
Enjoy your first night's stay.
Travel with your jeep driver to Pananjakan Peak to see spectacular sunrise views after a 30-minute trip.
Arrive at Pananjakan Peak and trek for 10 minutes to the viewpoint in time for sunrise at 5:20 am.
Enjoy sunrise views over some of the highest peaks here - Mt Batok, Bromo Crater, the massive Sea of Sand, and Semeru volcano, also known as the highest volcanic mountain on East Java Island.
After enjoying the sunrise, return by private 4WD jeep.
Continue to the crater area with a stop at the Sea of Sand, a wide desert.
Trek for about 30 minutes, or choose horse riding transportation, which takes about 15 minutes, to reach the crater.
Return to your jeep for the trip back to your hotel for breakfast, a shower, and preparation for check-out.
Check out from your hotel at your preferred time, then continue to a hotel around the Ijen volcano area. This will be a 6-hour drive with a stop along the way for lunch at a local restaurant.
Arrive at the hotel near the Ijen volcano area and stay overnight for the next day's Ijen volcano trekking activity.
Travel to Paltuding, the parking area. It will take about 30 minutes if you stay at a nearby homestay around the Ijen volcano. If you stay in a hotel, the trip duration to the parking area will be about 2 hours.
Arrive at Paltuding, the parking lot at Ijen Crater, then climb to the rim for about 2 hours and enjoy relaxed views of the green acid lake, the massive rim area with yellowish sulfur stones, and the sulfur miners' activity at the bottom of Ijen Crater. If you reach the Ijen volcano rim earlier, you may also be able to see the Blue Flames, which normally appear before 5:30 am.
After the trek, return to Paltuding through a 2-hour descent. Once you reach the Ijen volcano parking area, continue back to Surabaya or Malang.
