Mutianyu Great Wall Hike with Optional Cable Car
Your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in an air-conditioned bus and take you to the Great Wall of Mutianyu. Pickups are available within Beijing's 3rd Ring Road, and the guide will contact you on the night before departure. If your travel date falls in peak season, you may need to take a taxi to the starting point.
Arrive at the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall of China at around 9:30 am with skip-the-line access. Mutianyu is the best-renovated section of the Great Wall of China and one where the original look has been maintained. Before arrival, the English-speaking Chinese tour guide will introduce the history and stories of the Great Wall on the bus, allowing you to spend most of your time at the site enjoying the views at your own pace.
Instead of hiking, you can choose the option with a round-way cable car to reach tower 14 in the middle of the Great Wall, followed by a short walk to its most beautiful part. If the costume photo option is selected, the tour guide will accompany you to tower 14 to take unforgettable photos of you in traditional Chinese costume with the spectacular Great Wall as the backdrop.
After 3 hours of steep hiking with magnificent views all around, you will enjoy a traditional Chinese meal.
Then head back to Beijing, arriving at around 4 pm. You will be dropped off at the Olympic Center, home to the Bird's Nest and the Water Cube.
