Day 01

Garni Temple, Lavash Baking and Geghard Monastery

Depart from Yerevan with your Armenian tour driver.
Stop at Voghjaberd village near Charents Arch for photos. In good weather, it offers an incredible view of Mount Ararat.
Visit the pagan temple of Garni. It is the only Hellenistic colonnaded building in Armenia, built by King Tiridates I in the second half of the 1st century AD (77 AD) as a temple to the Sun God, Mithra (known as Mihr in Armenian). It also offers a magnificent view of the Azat River and Garni Gorge.
Participate in baking traditional Armenian bread, lavash, in a tandoor.
Head to Geghard Medieval Monastery. This monastery is also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the most popular places in Armenia. At the entrance, you can see local women selling candies, homemade food, and Geghard gata.
Return to Yerevan.
