Cricova Cellars Underground Winery Tour
Explore Cricova Cellars, one of the fascinating wonders of the world, founded in 1952.
Cricova Cellars are situated beneath the small town of Cricova and create an authentic underground city. The basements were formed after limestone extraction from the mines. Later, winemakers transformed the cellars into avenues and streets lined with wine stored in the surrounding niches. Cabernet, Aligote, Sauvignon, and others are the names of these streets and avenues. Together, they stretch for a total length of 120 km. The constant temperature of about 12 C degrees and humidity that does not exceed 97-98% create the most favourable conditions for storing 30 million litres of quality wine.
