The itinerary

1
Day 01

Great Rift Valley Drive and Lake Manyara Safari

  • After breakfast, meet your Tanzanian safari guide and driver in Moshi for a short briefing about the safari.

  • Drive west to the Great Rift Valley and Lake Manyara National Park. Lake Manyara National Park is one of Tanzania's most dramatically located wildlife areas, consisting of a massive but shallow soda lake at the foot of the Great Rift Valley's western escarpment.

  • Enjoy a nice lunch inside the park.

  • After your meal, continue your safari through the park's varied habitats, which attract many animals, including Africa's densely populated elephant herds and Lake Manyara's famous tree-climbing lions.

  • In the evening, you will be transferred to the hotel.

Day 02

Journey to the Serengeti Plains

  • Wake up early and enjoy your breakfast.

  • After breakfast, be picked up from the hotel and drive towards Serengeti National Park via the beautiful high-lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with your Tanzanian safari guide.

  • Head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area. This is one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source and attracts wildlife representative of most of the Serengeti's species.

  • Arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive in Serengeti National Park.

Day 03

Sogore River Circuit and Kopjes Circuit Game Drive

  • Early in the morning, head into Serengeti National Park and float silently above the awakening bush, spotting wildlife while enjoying the amazing scenery of Africa across rivers and over numerous small villages.

    1. You can choose to go for an optional hot air balloon ride over the park, booked at an additional cost.

  • After breakfast, enjoy a game-viewing drive along the Sogore River Circuit, which is good for possible lion, Thomson gazelle, topi, ostrich, and cheetah sightings.

  • Enjoy a relaxed picnic lunch at the centre in the shade of the giant acacia trees.

  • In the afternoon, follow the Kopjes Circuit, which goes anti-clockwise around the Maasai Kopjes that usually attract several lions and some formidably large cobras.

  • Have dinner and stay overnight in the Seronera area, as per the standard and type of accommodation option requested.

Day 04

Ngorongoro Crater Safari and Return

  • Leave the hotel as early as possible so you can see the variety of animals that are active only during the morning hours; breakfast will be packed in lunchboxes specifically for this purpose.

  • At 6:30 am, set off for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

  • Arrive at the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the most densely crowded wildlife areas in Africa and home to an estimated 30,000 animals, including some of Tanzania's last remaining black rhino.

  • Enjoy a picnic lunch in the crater.

  • Travel back to Moshi or Arusha, where your African safari adventure will end.
