Experience the thrill of glacier hiking and introductory ice climbing on Sólheimajökull, one of Iceland’s most striking outlet glaciers. After meeting your local guide, you’ll be fitted with glacier gear and begin an easy walk to the ice, where you’ll learn how to move safely on the glacier and discover features such as crevasses and moulins.

This beginner-friendly adventure starts with an easy ice wall to teach the basic skills of ice climbing, then progresses to different climbing areas on the glacier. The itinerary

Day 01

ice climbing

We start at Sólheimajökull parkinglot ( se locasion on map) we wil give you some glacier gear and start the 15min hike to the glacier.
When we are on the glacier we let you climb on a easy icewall to teach you basic skills to ice climb. After that we try to climb in 3 different locasions on the glacier.

This is perfect tour to see the glacier and try out some ice climbing with a local guide.

meeting point Sólheimajökull parkinglot. Tour start 10:30 and finish 15:00 at the parking lot. So you need to get to sólheimajökull before 10:30 so we can spend 4 1/2 on the glacier ice climbing
