Materuni Village, Waterfalls and Chagga Coffee Experience
Pick up from Moshi in the morning by your English-speaking guide and drive to Materuni village. Upon arrival, register at the village office and begin your trip.
Visit the Materuni Waterfalls, which are more than 80 meters high, after about a 40-minute walk. On the way, learn about Chagga culture, local village life, and the surrounding fauna and flora. Witness the spectacular views here, including the summit of Kilimanjaro. Swim and relax in the pool at the bottom of the waterfall.
Return with your guide to Materuni village and enjoy a traditional Chagga lunch. Have the opportunity to taste the local banana beer. Learn how coffee is cultivated, dried, roasted, and further processed. You will also be invited to help with grinding the coffee, which is traditionally accompanied by Chagga songs and dances.
Return to Moshi in the afternoon. Savour the coffee you made and appreciate the views of the surrounding rainforest.
