Bandung Highlights with Tangkuban Perahu and Sari Ater
Cihampelas Jeans Center - Jalan Cihampelas is a commercial area offering a huge collection of jeans and T-shirts at open stalls, along with typical local items and some of the most beautifully decorated shops.
Satay Building or Governor Office of West Java - Gedung Sate is one of the most impressive architectural heritage landmarks, reflecting the heyday of the Indo-European style. Built between 1920 and 1926, it is fascinating and well maintained. During the Dutch period in Indonesia, the building was known as the Gouvernement Bedrijven Building (GB Building). Today, it serves as the Provincial Government of West Java (Pemda Jawa Barat), where the Governor has his office. The site is surrounded by beautiful landscaping, with a view of Mount Tangkuban Perahu in the distance.
Luwak Coffee (Civet Coffee) - This is an exciting and phenomenal coffee produced from beans defecated by the Asian palm civet, or Luwak (Paradoxurus Hermaphroditus). Enjoy the unforgettable taste of this aromatic and healing coffee.
Tangkuban Perahu Volcano - The name Tangkuban Perahu comes from the Sundanese "Sangkuriang" legend, the love story of a mother and son. Its last serious eruption was in 1969, filling the area with black clouds, ash, and mudflows. It is the only crater that can be accessed by car right up to the lava-view crater area. Get closer to the crater, try walking down to the edge, and even try boiling an egg on the crater.
Ciater Hot Spring - Located in the middle of a tea estate, its main attraction is the Sari Ater Hot Spring Resort. The pool is probably the best of all the hot springs around Bandung city. Enjoy the warm sulphurous water, which is said to be good for healing rheumatism and skin problems.
