Nimo Village Walk and Local Family Visit
Have breakfast, followed by pickup and a drive to Nimo, a 30-minute ride and the starting point of the walk. The walk begins from the main Leh-Srinagar highway for about 5 minutes before turning left onto the village road, where you will hardly find any traffic. Leave the highway and learn about the brief history of the village.
Continue walking gradually through the lush green fields and old traditional Ladakhi houses inspired by Tibetan architecture. See lots of local people working in the fields and waving at you. The best part about village life is that people here are very simple and welcoming.
Head to a monastery in the village, which was recently renovated. Cross the stream on the way and continue to the eastern side of the village, where you will stop to visit a local family. Have a local lunch, butter tea, and local beer with the family.
Spend some time in a garden learning about the local crops from a local farmer.
Walk towards the ending point of the walk.
Drop back to your hotel.
