Embark on a wildlife journey to Maputo Special Reserve on this two-day tour. Begin with an urban exploration of Maputo's landmarks, including Independence Square, the City Council, a museum, market, and fort. Continue to Mukapane for a nature safari in a 4x4 vehicle, then unwind at Macaneta Beach. On the second day, head to Maputo Special Reserve to encounter diverse fauna, from marine and aquatic life to elephants and other African animals, before returning to the city.

Pick up from the hotel at 6 am and drive to Maputo Special Reserve (68 km/50 mins) by crossing the Maputo-Katembe Bridge.

The itinerary

Day 01

Maputo City Tour, Mukapane Safari and Macaneta Beach

Pick up from the hotel and depart at 7 am. Pass the railway station and take the opportunity to stop for photographs.
Proceed to Independence Square and visit the City Council, Cathedral, Iron House, FEIMA Market, Natural History Museum, and the Fort.
Drive to Mukapane. On the outskirts of Maputo, along Avenida de Moçambique, see Malangatana's outdoor works. Stop at the Wholesale Market and National Stadium for a chance to take pictures.
Arrive in Mukapane and explore nature on a safari in a 4x4 vehicle.
Drive to Macaneta Beach for lunch, with a chance to swim or relax.
Return to Maputo from Macaneta.

Day 02

Maputo Special Reserve Wildlife Experience

Pick up from the hotel at 6 am and drive to Maputo Special Reserve (68 km/50 mins) by crossing the Maputo-Katembe Bridge. Pass through the local rural villages of Katembe, Joanine, Calane, and Bela Vista, with a short stop at Salamanga village.
Enter the Maputo Reserve through the Futi entrance. Within the reserve, enjoy brilliant encounters with wildlife, excellent marine life, rare species facing extinction, wonderful sandy forests, and floodplains. Admire the natural landscapes all around you.
Drive back to Maputo before dark.
