Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival in Kilimanjaro Airport to Arusha

   • Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport and receive assistance with immigration formalities.

   • Meet your Tanzania tour guide and be on your way to Arusha.

   Dinner and overnight at Arusha.

2. Day 2: Arusha to Lake Manyara NP

   • Depart from Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park

   • Arrive at National Park in time for lunch. Stretching for 50 km along the base of the rusty gold 600-meter high Rift valley escarpments, Lake Manyara is a scenic gem, with a setting extolled by Ernest Hemingway as “the loveliest I had seen in Africa”. The compact game-viewing circuit through Manyara offers a virtual microcosm of the Tanzanian safari experience. 

   • Explore the park in the afternoon on a game drive. 

   Dinner and overnight at lodge.

3. Day 3: Lake Manyara to Ngorongoro

   • After breakfast, depart for the Ngorongoro Crater. Ngorongoro Crater is also known as the world's eighth wonder and stretches across some 8,300 sq km in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in northern Tanzania. It boasts a blend of landscapes, wildlife, people and archaeology that is unsurpassed in Africa. The volcanoes, grasslands, waterfalls and mountain forests are home to an abundance of animals and to the Maasai.

   • Eat lunch on the crater floor and ascend the crater in the evening.

   Dinner and overnight at the lodge. 

4. Day 4: Ngorongoro to Tarangire

   • After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park. 

   • Explore the park famous for its tree-climbing pythons. The fierce sun sucks the moisture from the landscape, baking the earth into a dusty red, the withered grass as brittle as straw. The Tarangire River has shrivelled to a shadow of its wet season self, but it is choked with wildlife. Tarangire’s pythons climb trees, as do its lions and leopards, lounging in the branches where the fruit of the sausage tree disguises the twitch of a tail.

   • After lunch, leave for an afternoon game drive.

   Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

5. Day 5: Tarangire to Arusha

   • After breakfast, drive to Arusha. 

   • Have lunch at a restaurant. 

   • Go to the airport for your return flight or ask your tour guide for a trip to Zanzibar for a beach visit.
