Itinerary
-
Day 1: Arrival in Kilimanjaro Airport to Arusha
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, our staff will assist with the immigration formalities at the airport.
- Soon after, drive to Arusha for dinner and overnight at the lodge.
-
Day 2: Arusha to Lake Manyara
After breakfast, depart from Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park for a full day game drive in the morning.
Lunch will be provided at midday.
Embark on an afternoon game drive in this spectacular game park to explore its tree-climbing lions and birdlife. Contrasting with the forest's intimacy is the grass floodplain and its expansive views eastward across the alkaline lake, to the jagged blue volcanic peaks that rise from the endless Maasai Steppes, large buffalo, wildebeest, and zebra congregate on these grassy plains, as do giraffes. Some are so dark in colouration that they appear to be from a distance.
Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
-
Day 3: Lake Manyara to Ngorongoro
After breakfast with picnic lunches, proceed to the Ngorongoro crater for a crater tour.
Upon arrival, you will descend into the crater floor by using a 4-wheel drive vehicle that will take you 2000 ft down to the crater. The Crater is one of the world’s greatest natural spectacles; its magical setting and abundant wildlife never fail to enthral visitors. It borders the Serengeti National Park to the north and west.
Dinner and overnight stay at a lodge.
-
Day 4: Ngorongoro to Serengeti
After breakfast, depart for Serengeti passing through Olduvai Gorge, the site of the Leakey’s family discovery of fossils of human and animal ancestors dating back to almost two million years. The Serengeti Ecosystem is one of the oldest on Earth. The essential features of climate, vegetation, and fauna have barely changed in the past million years. Early man himself made an appearance in Olduvai Gorge about two million years ago. Some patterns of life, death, adaptation, and migration are as old as the hills themselves.
Meals and overnight stay at the lodge.
-
Day 5: Serengeti Game drive
Spend a full day in the Serengeti plains with morning and afternoon game drives. It is the migration for which Serengeti is perhaps the most famous. Over a million wildebeest and about 200,000 zebras go south from the northern hills to the southern plains for the short rains every October and November, and then swirl west and north after the long rains in April, May, and June. So strong is the ancient instinct to move that no drought, gorge, or crocodile-infested river can hold them back.
Meals and overnight at the lodge.
-
Day 6: Serengeti to Arusha
In the morning, drive back slowly to Arusha.
Lunch will be provided at midday.
Dinner and overnight at lodge in Arusha.
