Odesa Catacombs Excursion in Nerubaiskoe
Visit Nerubaiskoe village to explore the catacombs and learn about their history while walking through the site. The catacombs are underground labyrinths created during the period of the city's construction more than 200 years ago. They stretch beneath Odessa and were formed during the mining of shell rock used to build the city. Today, they make up a labyrinth with hundreds of entrances, exits, caves, and tunnels. Before World War II, these labyrinths were used by smugglers, and during the war, they served as a shelter for partisans.
