Alexander Garden - Laid out by Russian architect Osip Bove in the early 19th century and named in honour of Emperor Alexander I, this monument survives as a place of elegant calm in an often-hectic city.
Red Square - This UNESCO World Heritage Site has been the scene of executions, demonstrations, riots, parades, and speeches.
Kremlin - Linked to all the most important historical and political events in Russia since the 13th century, the Kremlin was the residence of the Great Prince and also a religious centre.
St. Basil's Cathedral - St. Basil's Cathedral is Moscow's most famous artistic work of architecture.
Kazanskiy Cathedral - Built in the Empire style, it is one of the largest temples of Saint Petersburg. It is dedicated to Our Lady of Kazan, probably the most venerated icon in Russia.
GUM - This is a gorgeous mall that formerly worked as a trading center.
