Day by day
Catch a flight to Lhasa, Tibet, from Tribhuvan International Airport. Relish the scenic views throughout the flight as you arrive in Lhasa.
Meet your local guide and take a two-hour drive to Lhasa, travelling alongside the Yarlung Tsangpo and the Lhasa Kyichu River.
Check in to a 3-star hotel in Lhasa for an overnight stay.
Visit Potala Palace in the morning. It is the winter palace of the Dalai Lama, originally built in the 7th century by the Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo and later redesigned by the 5th Dalai Lama in the 17th century.
After that, head to your next destinations: Sera Monastery and Norbulingka, located about 5 km north of Lhasa city.
Overnight stay at a 3-star hotel.
Make an early morning visit to Drepung Monastery, considered the largest monastery of the Gelugpa sect in Lhasa. It was built in 1416 by Jamyang Choge.
After that, head towards Jokhang Temple, built by the 33rd great king of Tibet in the 7th century.
Visit Barkhor Market surrounding Jokhang Temple. You can do Kora with pilgrims and locals.
Overnight stay at the same hotel.
Take a scenic flight back to Kathmandu from Lhasa.
Upon arriving in Kathmandu, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Kathmandu for an overnight stay.
