Know before you go

Important Note

  • Trekker's safety is the paramount concern while trekking with Asiana Nepal Trek & Expedition. Every effort will be made to keep to the above itinerary. Everest Three Pass Trekking is located in a remote area in the Khumbu region. Asiana Nepal Treks & Expedition can't guarantee it, as weather conditions, availability of porters, and the health of team members can all contribute to changes. The guide and Sherpa will try to ensure that the trip runs according to plan, but please be prepared to be flexible if necessary.

Pre-trip meeting

  • Asiana Nepal Treks & Expedition hosts the pre-trip meeting in Kathmandu on the 2nd itinerary day. Trekkers introduce themselves to the trek leader. It provides an opportunity for individuals to ask questions about Everest Three Pass Trekking. The pre-trip meeting covers personal equipment, acclimatisation, and introductions to other team members. Asiana Nepal Treks & Expedition hopes the pre-trip meeting will be informative, supportive, and fun.

Acclimatisation

  • Asiana Nepal Treks & Expedition's Everest Three Pass Trekking itinerary is focused on AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness); going up too fast can cause a medical condition severe enough to be fatal. Higher mountain areas have less oxygen in the air. If trekkers want a safe Everest Three Pass Trekking experience, their bodies need some days to rest in the low-oxygen environment. Travellers who have heart, lung, or blood diseases should consult their doctor before leaving home. Asiana Nepal Treks & Expedition's itinerary is designed to help prevent AMS as much as possible. It is important to remember that some people are more susceptible than others.

Physical Condition & Experience Requirements

  • Usually, Everest Three Pass Trekking takes place in a remote mountain area in the Khumbu region. It is suitable for physically fit walkers. Travellers must be in good health and physical condition. Most parts of the trek involve five to six hours of walking, but some days are seven hours. It is a good idea to prepare yourself in the lead-up to your trip with regular exercise, especially long walks in hilly areas. Technical experience is not required. Hiking experience is advantageous, but the most important thing is a positive attitude and a generous amount of determination. If you have any pre-existing medical conditions, you must let Asiana know the details before setting up the trip. Also, before coming to Nepal, it is essential to consult your doctor regarding vaccinations and any other medical concerns the trip may raise. "Medical and emigration expenses are your responsibility."

Insurance

  • When travelling with Asiana Nepal Treks & Expedition, trekkers must be fully insured, including air rescue, air ambulance, and treatment services. Had an accident? Trekkers should be careful in choosing a policy, as some make notable exceptions for adventure travel. Please note that Asiana Nepal Treks & Expedition doesn't arrange any insurance.

Porter Care

  • Trekking is an adventure, and porters have a hard-working job. They carry trekkers' supplies and baggage, making the journey easier and more comfortable in the remote mountains of the Khumbu region. Asiana ensures all porters are well trained and well paid. Porters who become sick are treated with the same care and attention as team members, and Asiana has previously used helicopters at its own expense to rescue porters from dangerous situations. For the porters' sake, Asiana requires all trekkers to keep their bag weight between 15 and 20 kg. They support the work of the International Porter Protection Group (IPPG) and provide help and advice to those organisations to improve the working conditions of the porters on whom they depend.
