Day 01

Kirstenboch Gardens, Strandfontien and Cape Point Birdwatching

  • Start the day at Kirstenboch Gardens, where you will walk through a number of different habitats to encounter some of the fynbos and forest species. Look out for Cape Sugarbird, Orange-breasted Sunbird, Blue-mantled Crested Flycatcher, and a number of raptors.

  • Head to Strandfontien Sewage Works to watch the aquatic species, as well as the seabirds that are frequent in the area.

  • Continue towards Cape Point via Boulders Beach to see African Penguins, then spend time around the Cape Point area focusing on fynbos and mountain species such as Cape Rock Thrush and Mocking Cliff Chat.

Return to Kirstenboch Gardens at the end of the day.
