National Museum, established in 1778 by the Dutch. It was the first and the biggest museum in Southeast Asia and a favourite reference for museum lovers. There are collections of more than 140,000 artifacts here, including ancient statues, inscriptions, ethnographic objects, bronze items, prehistoric collections, Chinese artifacts, textiles, numismatic pieces, historical relics, and precious artifacts.
National Monument, a landmark monument of Jakarta. Standing at 132 metres, this monument is topped by a glittering flame that symbolizes the nation's independence.
The Catholic Cathedral Church and Istiqlal Mosque. Facing the Catholic Cathedral is Jakarta's principal place of Muslim worship, the modernistic Masjid Istiqlal, constructed under Soekarno and reputedly the largest mosque in Southeast Asia. The Cathedral Church was built in 1891.
Jakarta Proclamation Monument, constructed to commemorate the Indonesian Proclamation of Independence on 17 August 1945. This monument features the statue of the first Indonesian president.
Art & Antique Markets, where you can see paintings, wooden carvings, and other artworks. Traditional and contemporary art performances can also be seen here regularly.
Batik Shop to see an interesting permanent exhibition of batik, the traditional cloth of Indonesia, in both classic and modern designs.
