Discovering The Old Town
Begin the excursion outside the central section of the historic Royal Mile via Parliament Square and the City Chambers.
Head up Castlehill towards the beautiful Makars' Court and Victoria Street, otherwise known as Diagon Alley.
Visit one of Edinburgh's most iconic streets, the Grassmarket, famous for its historic pubs, unbeatable views of the Castle and executions.
Proceed to Grey friars' Kirkyard, not just famous for a very loyal dog but also bodysnatchers and a inspiration for Bram Stoker, Mary Shelley and J.K. Rowling.
After visiting the Old College of Edinburgh University the tour will return to the Royal Mile.
Walk down Castlehill we shall see some of the oldest surviving buildings in the city, John Knox House and Moubray House date back to the 15th century.
Leave the bustling Royal Mile behind and enter the stunning Tweeddale Court and Bakehouse Close (now famous for being Outlander's Carfax Close).
Visit the stately Holyrood Palace across the road from Scotland's modern parliament building and the tour concludes.
