Day 01

Kuala Lumpur to Ipoh Heritage Trail

  • Begin the tour from Kuala Lumpur city centre with hotel pick-up and your Malaysian tour guide.
  • Travel north via the North-South Highway on a 3-hour drive to Ipoh.
  • Stop for an Ipoh brunch featuring steamy bean sprout chicken, Tau Fu Far, and the city's famous white coffee.
  • Start the heritage trail in Ipoh old town and learn interesting facts about this former mining town, including its colonial past, how it became the capital city of Perak state, and the emergence of the famous "Concubine Lane."
  • Before heading to Concubine Lane, stop at one of Ipoh's most captivating architectural landmarks, the Ipoh Railway Station, which is often among the first sights visitors see.
  • After spending time taking photos of mural artworks and shopping at Market Lane, head for dinner at a local food court.

Day 02

Ipoh Caves, Cultural Village and Return to Kuala Lumpur

  • The next morning, meet at the lobby or homestay and get ready to try Ipoh dim sum for an early breakfast.

  • To get a good seat without waiting in the queue, begin the journey at 7 am to visit Kek Lok Tong Cave. Kek Lok Tong Cave Temple is a tourist attraction situated in the natural surroundings of Gunung Rapat, in the south of Ipoh, the capital of Perak state in West Malaysia.

  • Afterward, head to a cultural village for 2 hours, where you can wander around a beautiful lake and enjoy a beautiful walk through the side cave.

  • Before heading back to Kuala Lumpur city, make a short stop at Kellie's Castle. This castle was built by a Scottish planter named William Kellie Smith.

  • Have lunch before beginning the 3-hour drive back to Kuala Lumpur city.

  • Choose either to stay in a 3-star hotel or at a homestay in a rural village that is 30 km from Ipoh city centre.
