Itinerary

1. Day 1- Arrival at Iquitos

   • Pick up from the hotel or airport and transfer to the port Bellavista Nanay. On the way, thePeruvian guide will explain briefly about Iquitos city and its principal touristic places. 
   • Pick up a typical boat to navigate down the Amazon river till the lodge. 
   • On the way, visit the Fundo Pedrito; see some lakes, Caimans, Piranhas, the giant water lilies, and the most famous and largest in the Amazon basin, the Paiche or Arapaima Gigas.
   • Reception at the lodge with a welcome drink, and the designation of the bungalow.
   • The first activity will be a small exploration in the jungle to research medicinal plants, insects, monkeys, etc.
   • By the night, have a boat ride or by canoe to see the magical night, and to hear the jungle noises.

2. Day 2- Exploring Iquitos

   • Take a early morning walk to see the sunrise and many varieties of birds.
   • Do a fishing tour and search for dolphins.
   • Visit the Monkey Island, a refuge for some species of monkeys that are in danger of extinction, or those that have been rescued from predators like the humans; interact with some of them.
   • End the day with a nocturnal walk to explore and search some nocturnal creatures of the night such as frogs, tarantulas, snakes and scorpions.

3. Day 3- Final Departure

   • Optional early excursión.
   • Visit the sanctuary of the animals which is a nice place to observe some species of animals that have been rescued from the Black Market and this sanctuary is protecting and caring for these animals like monkeys, macaws, parrots, the anaconda, turtles, rodents and many more. 
   • Have a talk about jungle medicines.
