Tata Castle, Pannonhalma Archabbey and Győr
Depart early from Budapest.
Make your first stop at Tata Castle. Its prosperity dates back to the reigns of Zsigmond Luxemburg and Mátyás Hunyadi, when it served as a summer resort for the king. The walls of the castle reflect the romantic style of the Eszterházy family, who once lived here. The building on the shore of the Old Lake remains a beautiful sight even today.
Visit Pannonhalma Archabbey for a guided tour of the oldest Hungarian building in existence. Rare documents and records from the earliest centuries of the Hungarian State are preserved in the archives here. The library consists of over 300,000 volumes.
Continue to the beautiful Baroque and neoclassical town of Győr.
Enjoy a walking tour of the city centre.
