Islamic Cairo Monuments, Mosques, and Museums
Early in the morning, gather at the hotel and travel with your guide in an air-conditioned car. Learn about Islamic Cairo, which was Egypt's Islamic capital until Cairo became the capital city. It features several Egyptian monuments from different ages, including the Ottoman age and the Mamluk age.
Start at Salah El Din's castle, which was built in 1176 AD. Explore the Mohammed Ali Mosque, which was built during the Smani state, and the Mosque of Al Nasser Ibn Kalawon, which was built during the Mamluk state.
Continue to the Martial Museum and see some equipment that was used in the Six-Day War. Trace some of the weapons that were taken from Israel.
Explore the castle prison, the police museum, El Azhar Mosque, El Moaz Street, the Ibn Kalawon group, and Al Hakem Mosque.
