Koh Ker and Beng Mealea Temple Exploration
Morning (start the tour by 8:00 AM): Visit Koh Ker, the ancient capital of the Khmer Empire, a 10th-century temple complex in the northern Cambodian jungle that is now heavily forested.
Afternoon: Visit Beng Mealea Temple, built in the 12th century and considered one of the most mysterious temples at Angkor. At Beng Mealea, trees have grown out of the towers and vines entangle the columns. Lintels and other building blocks lie scattered in a tumble, requiring visitors to climb up and down as they approach the completely collapsed central towers.
