Sanctuary of Fátima and Valinhos Excursion
Depart from Lisbon directly to Fátima via highway A1 with your Fátima tour guide. The journey takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes each way (130 km each way).
Visit the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fátima, a group of Catholic religious buildings and structures in Cova da Iria, in the civil parish of Fátima. Once you arrive, the guide will share useful information outside the churches about the Sanctuary. Millions of pilgrims go there to fulfil their promises, to pray, or simply to feel its mystical strength. The Sanctuary Square is so vast that it can only truly be described by numbers: it can receive 300,000 to 500,000 visitors at the same time and is almost twice the size of St. Peter's Square in the Vatican.
Visit the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity, designed by Greek Orthodox architect Alexandros Tombazis, who combined light and technology in a circular structure.
Drive to Valinhos in the neighbourhood, where you will have the opportunity to visit the houses of the 3 shepherds.
Explore the area further with about 45 minutes of free time.
