Then trek to the top of the volcano for a chance to look inside the astounding smoking crater!
Itinerary

Explore the Mount Bromo
12:00 AM: Pick up from Malang or Surabaya using a private car to Tosari Pasuruan (Jeep Basecamp).
Transfer to use 4WD Jeep to the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park.
Continue to the Penanjakan viewpoint or the King Kong Hill, where you can watch the sunrise. From the drop-off point to Penanjakan Hill is a short 5-10 minute walk.
Enjoy lots of street-side stalls along the track that sell noodles, corn on the cob, coffee, and tea.
Return to the jeep once you’ve watched the sunrise over Bromo. The driver will drop you off 300 meters away from the base of Bromo Volcano. Locals on horseback will rush up to greet you as you get out of the jeep and offer you a horseback ride to the volcano (It costs around Rp 50,000-Rp 150,000 round trip). It takes about 25 minutes to cross the dusty plain to reach the bottom of the volcano. From there, it’s a short 7-minute hike up the stairs.
Continue to sea sand after climbing Mount Bromo. It is known as the whispering sand due to the sound it makes when winds blow here.
Visit the astounding Teletubbies Hill.
- 12:30 PM: Drive back to Malang or Surabaya by your private car.
