Celebrate the New Year in the Sahara on a 7-day journey through the Tadrart region and Tassili n'Ajjer. Travel across an extraordinary variety of Saharan landscapes, from deep canyons and changing dunes to sandstone formations carved by nature, secret gueltas, and vast plains flooded with light. Along the way, discover rock paintings, engravings, and dramatic desert scenery with your Tuareg guide, while spending each night in a bivouac under the desert sky.
Climbing to its peak is not easy, but it is well worth the effort.

Day by day
On the first day, transfer by vehicle to the Tisras site for some time to rest. After lunch, depart towards Ininouar for your first bivouac.
Continue towards the southeast, following the cliffs of the Tassili. Cross the Tassili of Imarharatèn, passing a few banks of golden sand, then the high dunes resting against the cliff that announce the entrance to Elberdj Canyon. Camp at Elberdj.
Follow the immense canyon of Elberdj, whose cliffs sculpted by erosion shelter numerous frescoes and rock engravings. After the sumptuous yellow dunes of Moul'naga, a succession of Tassilian landscapes of great beauty leads you to the arches of Tamezguida.
Take a short break to enjoy the view before heading to the campsite.
Through a labyrinth of deep canyons, progress towards the immense cirque of Tin Merzouga, home to the highest dune in the region, whose strings of dunes extend to infinity and are bathed in red at sunset.

Discover on foot the reliefs of Ouan'aggen, where multicolored sands surround finely chiseled sandstone sculptures through a maze of grassy wadis interspersed with dunes. Your bivouac is at In Tehaq.
The morning is dedicated to discovering the numerous rock paintings and engravings of the In Djaren valley. After lunch, head to the Adjalati site, dominated by a beautiful dune for an awesome sunset, and set up bivouac nearby.
In about 30 minutes, return to the road, then drive approximately 140 km. At some point, go off-road and cross a vast empty area of sand before visiting the famous rock carvings of Tegharghart.
Drive to the Tisras area, then later enjoy a good shower at the hostel before a visit to Djanet. Farewell dinner in the Tisras area, then transfer to the airport for the return flight.
