The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in Negombo

Upon arrival at the airport, connect with your tour guide and transfer to your stay in Negombo.

Day 02

Journey to Ancient Anuradhapura

On the second day, head to Anuradhapura, considered the first kingdom of Sri Lanka.

Day 03

Mihintale and Ancient Heritage

Explore more ancient sights today with a visit to Mihintale, where Buddhism first came to Sri Lanka, according to ancient histories.

Day 04

Polonnaruwa and National Park Safari

After breakfast, drive to Sri Lanka's second most ancient kingdom, Polonnaruwa. This was the first declared capital city by King Vijayabahu I, who defeated Chola invaders in 1070.
Afterwards, visit Minneriya or Kaudulla National Park for a short safari.

Day 05

Sigiriya Rock, Dambulla, and Kandy

In the morning, climb Sigiriya Rock, an ancient rock fortress located in the northern Matale District near the town of Dambulla. This site has great historical and archaeological significance and is dominated by a massive column of rock nearly 200 metres high.
Continue towards Kandy via Dambulla to see the cave temples and Nalanda Gedige.

Day 06

Temple of the Tooth and Kandy City Tour

In the morning, visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic, a charming place of relevance for Buddhism. It is located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy and houses the relic of the tooth of the Buddha.
Afterwards, go for a Kandy city tour.
Later, see the Royal Botanical Garden at Peradeniya.

Day 07

Tea Country and Nuwara Eliya

Today, head to Nuwara Eliya.
On the way, visit a tea factory to get a demonstration of how tea is made.
See some beautiful waterfalls and do a city tour of Nuwara Eliya in the evening.

Day 08

Horton Plains and Train to Ella

Today, go to Horton Plains National Park, a protected area in the central highlands of Sri Lanka that is covered by montane grassland and cloud forest.
Visit the park, followed by an exciting train journey from Nanu Oya to Ella.

Day 09

Ella Highlights and Transfer to Tissamaharama

Visit the Nine Arch Bridge in the morning, followed by a hike to Little Adam's Peak. It is worth going up there for a 360-degree view of the mountain areas.
In the evening, head towards Tissamaharama, where Yala National Park is located.
Midway, take a halt at Ravana Falls.

Day 10

Yala Safari and Galle Beach Stay

Explore Yala National Park, a vast forest grassland bordering the Indian Ocean in southeast Sri Lanka.
Enjoy a quick jeep safari here and spot a variety of wildlife such as leopards, elephants, and crocodiles, as well as hundreds of bird species.
Enjoy a beach stay at Galle beach.
