Yangon City Highlights and Sacred Pagodas

  • Visit the following places with our Yangon tour guide:

    • Chinatown, which lies west of Sule Pagoda in the centre of downtown Yangon. 19th Street is the main centre of the city's Chinatown.

    • Sule Pagoda and the surrounding area, including City Hall, Mahabandoola Park, and the Independence Monument. This Burmese stupa is located in the heart of downtown Yangon.

    • Botataung Pagoda, the Yangon riverside pagoda, is a famous pagoda located in downtown Yangon. The pagoda was first built over 2,500 years ago and was known as Kyaik-de-att in the Mon language.

    • Kandawgyi Lake, one of the two major lakes in Yangon, Burma. The lake is artificial in origin, and water from Inya Lake is channelled through a series of pipes to Kandawgyi Lake.

    • Royal Barge, a ceremonial barge used by a monarch for processions and transport on a body of water.

    • Ngahtatgyi Pagoda, a Buddhist temple in Bahan Township located off Shwegondine Road.

    • Chaukhtatgyi Pagoda, home to a huge reclining Buddha image and one of the most well-known Buddhist temples in Bahan Township, Myanmar.

    • World-famous Shwedagon Pagoda at sunset time.

  • Shop at the busy but colourful Bogyoke Aung San Market.

  • Transfer back to your hotel, ship port gate, bus station, or airport.
